I love that my son and I share a bond that is exclusive to us. I had no idea how intimate, rewarding, and sometimes challenging breastfeeding would be.
I love being able to give my son the most natural and purest form of nourishment; chock-full of vitamins, minerals, protein, antibodies, and cool stuff like stem cells and cancer killing cells. I love being able to provide not only nourishment but comfort when my son is sick, sad, or scared. I love that breastfeeding makes me more aware of what I put in my body, so that I take better care of myself.
I love feeling connected to millions of women across the globe and throughout history who have breastfed their babies.
I love how quick and easy it is…he can nurse anytime, anywhere, and I don’t have to worry about bottles, temperature, clean water, or sterilization. I love how he calls it “boo” and tries to offer it to his bear, “Ted,” as well.
I love how breastfeeding has made me a more patient person. I love how breastfeeding makes me stop, be still, and focus on my son. But most of all, I love the way he looks at me when he is nursing. He has a look in his eyes that is the most beautiful combination of innocence and trust. In that moment, we are truly connected. —Titania Jordan, social media manager for baby gooroo, mom to Jackson
